About ProudParent
A family-centered support platform for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ youth.
The Challenge
Parents navigating questions around gender identity and sexual orientation often face fragmented information and limited access to affirming resources and community—especially across differing regional and state policies.
When a teen comes out, even parents who feel prepared can be left with unexpected questions:
How do I tell my family?
How do I keep my child safe?
Is this a phase?
What do we do next?
Too often, parents are left navigating these moments without clear guidance or accessible support.
ProudParent exists to close that gap.
What We Do
ProudParent supports families navigating questions around gender identity and sexual orientation through clarity, connection, and access to affirming resources.
Moderated parent community focused on education, shared experience, and peer support
Practical, affirming resources designed to help parents and caregivers make informed decisions
Connections to trusted third-party partners offering gender-affirming counseling and professional support, where legally available
Guidance and navigation tools to help families understand options and next steps without pressure or judgment
ProudParent does not provide medical or mental health services directly. We focus on education, community support, and connection to external providers.

Clear boundaries and scope, ensuring families understand what ProudParent provides and what it does not
Connection over direction, supporting informed decision-making without pressure or expectation
ProudParent exists to support families, not to replace professional care or dictate outcomes.
Why ProudParent Exists
ProudParent was founded by Felicity Stone, a parent and advocate with firsthand experience navigating fragmented, often inaccessible support systems for families of LGBTQ+ youth. While supporting her transgender daughter, Felicity encountered significant gaps in clear information, affirming resources, and safe community—particularly within regions where access is limited or politicized.
ProudParent exists to close that gap. The platform was created to provide families with reliable information, respectful connection, and a clearer path forward—without pressure, judgment, or predetermined outcomes.
